Premedical Career Pathway Research

While the premedical career pathway can be overwhelming and challenging, the journey of pursuing a career in medicine can be greatly rewarding.  The key is to understand the "system" well, and then create your own path to best navigate this system.  A group of us in Student Clinical Opportunities for Premedical Experience (S.C.O.P.E.) realized that there was no single "All-That-Is-Premed" resource at Stanford in order to obtain current information on the different topics surroudning the premedical process and medical career.  We formed the Premedical Career Pathway Research (PCPR) committee to establish a central receptacle of material for premedical students to help inform themselves of the premedical process- from academic to laboratory research, to clinical and international health experience, to the medical school application process, to deciding a medical specialty.  Our goal is to provide an easy-to-navigate, reliable source of information for premedical students.  Throughout the process, we have been extremely conscious of the sources of all material, and we work hard to clearly cite every claim on the website.

Enjoy! And best wishes to you as you navigate your individual path toward a career in medicine.
